The use of drum dyed leather retains the natural appearance and characteristics of the leather. Gloves are crafted after skins are moistened and powdered, making them easier to work with. The glove cutter then carefully selects which parts of the leather to use for each section of the glove.

Cutting the Leather

The glove cutter must minimize waste and use the leather efficiently while considering its individual properties. Leather has a natural stretch, requiring the cutter to stretch it before cutting. The cutter determines the amount of stretch and direction needed for a perfect fit glove, relying on knowledge and feel for the leather's grain and texture.

Sewing & Finishing

Once the leather is cut, pieces are sewn together by hand or machine, with the lining inserted. Gloves are then dressed, ironed, and polished for the final finish.
